Ferraria ferrariola, in Afrikaans commonly the gespikkelde spinnekopblom (speckled spider flower) or gifuintjie (poison nut grass), is a deciduous herb growing annual above-ground parts from a perennial corm. It reaches heights from 15 cm to 60 cm. The stem may branch sparsely, partly covered in leaf sheaths.

The species distribution is in the west of the Northern Cape across Namaqualand from the Richtersveld to the Western Cape as far south as Vredenburg.

The habitat is succulent Karoo and fynbos, the plants growing on rocky granite and sandstone slopes or deep sand of flats near rocky outcrops. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
