Erica rosacea subsp. rosacea leaves

The small, oblong to lanceolate leaves of Erica rosacea subsp. rosacea grow on very short stalks in whorls of three, adhering erectly to the stems. Like so many Erica leaves described as needle-like.

The outside leaf surfaces are rounded, the inside ones flat. The leaves are hairless or slightly hairy, occasionally with a few glands.
