Erica caffrorum var. caffrorum

The flowers of Erica caffrorum var. caffrorum grow in groups of two or three at the tips of small branchlets from upper stems. The pedicels are hairy. There are small bracts right at the base of the flower. The hairless sepals reach about three quarters of the way up the corolla, clutching it.

The petals (and sepals) are almost white, in the photo marked with some pink, but much brown colouring seems to arrive early. The corolla widens slightly at the mouth, although this shape varies somewhat. The anthers are not exserted (JSTOR).
