Erica plukenetii may also be pale pink as in this photo taken on Hoy's Koppie in Hermanus during May. The sepals are small at the back and no bracts can be discerned in the picture. The exserted brown anthers and a still longer style are visible. The corolla sometimes has dark colouring on the lobes at its tip. This plant may be E. plukenetii subsp. plukenetii.
The leaf-shape is a bit straighter than sometimes seen, although still mostly incurving (Manning and Helme, 2024; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Baker and Oliver, 1967; iNaturalist).
