The linear leaves of Erica plukenetii are long, varying between 1,2 cm and 1,6 cm in length, occasionally as long as 2,1 cm. The thin, thread-like leaves are more or less triangular. The leaves overlap densely on the stems, growing in whorls and are variably incurving.
The plant in picture was seen on Table Mountain. It had the longest, incurved leaves at stem-tips where weather conditions had caused some discolouring to the leaf tips (Baker and Oliver, 1967).
