The leaves of Erica plukenetii are long, varying between 1,2 cm and 1,6 cm in length, occasionally as long as 2,1 cm. The thin, linear or thread-like leaves are more or less triangular. The leaves overlap densely, growing in whorls of three and variably incurving. Additional leaves sprout in tufts from primary leaf axils.

The plant in picture was seen on Table Mountain. It had the longest, incurved leaves at stem-tips where weather conditions had caused some discolouring to the leaf-tips (Manning and Helme, 2024; Baker and Oliver, 1967; iNaturalist).
