The leaves of Erica diaphana ascend and spread upon the upper stems in whorls of three, not very densely spaced. The leaves are smooth and thickly textured; their margins rolled under may show a narrow gap on the lower leaf surface. Leaves become about 5 mm long, varying in colour from bright or dull green to yellow green (www.plantzafrica.com; Baker and Oliver, 1967; Wikipedia).
