The Erica glandulosa flowers in picture are pale pink with some translucence, ageing to a deeper tint, a dark brown-red. The perianths are longitudinally ridged. The stigmas of the flowers are mostly exserted, the dark anthers not, visible through the perianth bulges accommodating them near the flower tips.
Leaf-like, therefore needle-like sepals and behind them bracteoles are here yellowish around the back ends of the flowers.
The yellowish green, needle-like leaves covering the young stems densely are totally absent from the old wood in picture that is smooth and grey (Manning and Helme, 2024; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Baker and Oliver, 1967; iNaturalist; iSpot).
