There are small, green, leaf-like bracts on the flower stem of Eulophia zeyheriana, each subtending a flower. The steeply ascending bracts are narrowly lance-shaped, clutching the stem and folding around the ovary bases before tapering to acutely pointed tips. In picture the bracts are positioned and pointing away from the flowers which nod slightly on long, pliant, greenish purple ovaries that point their flowers where they may.
The spurs of E. zeyheriana flowers are sometimes hard to see. There is one on show here, pointing back to the stem on the bud near the top in the photo. The cylindrical spur is paler than the sepals and up to 3 mm long (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
