Eulophia hians var. inaequalis flower

Eulophia hians var. inaequalis is a rhizomatous perennial growing to heights up to 35 cm.

From five to fifteen flowers are produced in the inflorescence, an erect spike. The oblong to lanceolate sepals taper to acute tips. They are yellow on the outside and greenish yellow on the inside surfaces, in the photo with purplish near their margins. The surfaces are covered in glistening cells and longitudinal vein lines.

The inner tepals, the two lateral petals and the lip, are yellow and shorter, but broad with rounded tips. Four rows of peg-like protuberances are present on the lip crest in the central part of the upper surface, from the spur mouth at the back, not reaching the apex of the lip.

Flowering occurs from late winter through spring.
