    The greenish yellow cyathia or false flowers of Euphorbia maleolens grow in cymes of up to four among the stem-tip leaves. From four to six bracts are present, dropping off later.

    Stamens in the male flowers are about 4,5 mm long. The styles of the female flower are united at the base, the stigmas thick.

    Flowering happens from spring to autumn.

    There are five hand-like nectar glands around the cyathium in picture with dark green fleshy "palms" and finger-like brown protrusions from the top of each (Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; iNaturalist; JSTOR; http://www.llifle.com).
