Euphorbia natalensis is a tufted perennial that resprouts from a woody rootstock, reaching heights from 15 cm to 70 cm. The stems are simple or branching near the top. Plant parts exude a milky latex.
The grey green, hairless leaves are narrow and straight, their tips blunt or pointed. Leaf dimensions are from 8 mm to 25 mm long and from 1 mm to 7 mm wide.
The species distribution is in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. The photo was taken near the Sani Pass.
The habitat is grassland from the coast to elevations around 2400 m. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Pooley, 1998; Trauseld, 1969; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
