The dome-shaped Euphorbia pulvinata occupies rock resiliently here. To the outsider this may be an odd vegetable anthill turning a serene, everyday slope into a Jules Verne sci-fi landscape. Paranormal confronts in the absence of familiarity!

The kids living down the hill pass by here every day without a second glance. The visitor from afar gawks at length. Maybe at nature that takes the otherworldly occupant in its stride while going nowhere, or realising that this rugged terrain and seemingly weird plant are both real, at home and timeless. That there’s always too much earth for any eye to be familiar with it all.

The satiety that grows in home terrain, the boredom from missing nature’s everyday miracles on the route of the daily walk can blind. It causes the yearning for greener grass. Until wanderlust points out the ubiquitous frontiers under one's nose where curiosity can be accommodated in every back garden, given the right mindset.
