The leaves of Euphorbia braunsii grow in a small tuft from the youngest tubercles at the stem-top, one each on the upper tubercular bulges as they emerge from the centre in the stem growth. They are narrowly oblong, almost linear, folded in along the slightly uneven margins as a central channel to their rounded tips. Leaf colour is blue-green, sometimes with red on the margins. The leaf texture fleshy and smooth, the margins in picture irregularly toothed. The leaves are deciduous, dropping off very early where the white marks still show.

This plant was seen in April just south of the Gariep near Keimoes (Frandsen, 2017; Williamson, 2010; iNaturalist; iSpot; JSTOR).
