Euryops speciosissimus, the Clanwilliam euryops or in Afrikaans the pronkharpuis (showy resin), is a slender shrub that may grow taller than 2 m.
The branches are smooth and resinous, becoming leafless lower down. The leaves are alternate, thin and thread-like, divided into up to fifteen long narrow lobes.
The plants distribution is inland in the west of the Northern and Western Cape, from Nieuwoudtville to Clanwilliam and Piketberg.
Its habitat in this western Karoo region is mostly the lower sandstone slopes of dry fynbos. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2009; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; www.plantzafrica.com; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
