Euryops pectinatus irregular combs

The upper leaves of Euryops pectinatus are greyer and bluer than those lower down on this plant. The woolliness of the comb-like, felted leaves does not appear to always persist to the same extent.

A few leaf lobes (or teeth of the comb-like leaf structure) branch higher up towards their tips, not what one would want in a functional comb. The lobe tips of the leaves are variably rounded to pointed.

The velvety flowerhead stalks or scapes are leafless and erect. The involucral bracts visible on the bud in picture are narrow and velvety grey. There is only one row of them and the receptacle is without scales, all in accordance with normal Euryops flowerhead structure (Manning, 2007).
