Lycium leaves

This shrub was found near Bela-Bela in Limpopo. A species that may be found growing in this area is Lycium bosciifolium, the Limpopo honey-thorn (SA Tree List No. 669.6). According to Coates Palgrave (2002) that species has leaves with sharper tips than those in the photo.

The pale blue, mauve, purple or white trumpet or long-tube flowers that cover the Lycium bushes in season are attractive, but quite small.
