The stamens and style of Lycium horridum flowers, about equal in length, are exserted beyond the spreading corolla lobes at the flower mouth. The cream-coloured anthers are chunky, as is the green stigma next to them.

The corolla of this flower is white on its inside, mauve on some. The outside surface is also approaching white nearer the flower mouth. The long tube widens slightly towards its mouth, the calyx well back at the base (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; iSpot; JSTOR).
