The inflorescence of Ixia scillaris subsp. latifolia comprises well-spaced flowers in a spiralling spike on a stiffly erect flower stem. There may be from 7 to 25 faintly fragrant flowers in one spike. A small, colourless bract about 4 mm long subtends each flower.
Flowering happens from late winter to spring. The photo was taken in August (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; Eliovson, 1990; iNaturalist).
