Young Lapeirousia fabricii plants may appear in numbers on slopes in the Biedouw Valley after winter rain, growing well in full sun in stony, sandy soil.
The leaves, one long, a few short, form a fan in opposite arrays at the base. Bracts grow higher up on stems that elongate variably. The bracts are smaller and more acutely pointed than the leaves (Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997).
