Straight on the narrow corolla tube, the brown lines on the Lapeirousia fabricii flower separate in elegant curves on the upper tepal parts. This is where slight widening in the cup region makes them flow up the tepal claws in undisturbed threes. The lines keep their band width on each tepal, apart from in the last stretch up the tepal lobe where they spread, as does the lobe.
The tepal margins start off yellower in the furled stage, whitening to faint cream during opening.
Gregarious they also are, like friendly little snakes bulging their necks cobra style, as they lift their heads in gaining confidence. Nothing serious though! They all emerge only from green bracts.
