A Lobostemon glaucophyllus flower may lose its initial purplish colouring from both filaments and petals, while the blue still persists.
The membranous texture of the inner petal surfaces indicates that flowering is not quite done. The anthers have not changed much from the time when the flower was newly opened (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
