Justicia incana flower

The white, two-lipped flowers of Justicia incana are usually borne solitary from leaf axils. The flower has a five-lobed calyx.

The corolla structure is snapdragon-like with a prominent three-lobed lower lip. The central lobe of this lip has parallel ridges angling outwards from a central axis, often with lilac veining. The smaller upper lip is hooded and somewhat rounded with a hairy outer surface. The flower is about 2 cm long.

The dark stamens sheltered inside the tip of the upper lip spread sideways on white filaments.

The dull green leaf blade behind has an entire margin and rounded tip (Van Rooyen and Van Rooyen, 2019; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
