This flower of Justicia incana holds its anthers close together inside the hooded upper lip on curved filaments. The anthers are white, tinted purple on some marginal parts.
Bluish lilac colouring is visible between the angled white ribs in the centre of the lower corolla lip. The lateral lobes of this lower lip are somewhat square, curving inwards at their tips.
The velvety indumentum found on the leaves, as well as some longitudinal fissuring on the stems can be seen (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
