Lasiosiphon deserticola flowers dry to brown and may persist for some time. These old calyx lobes are rough from shrivelling, the slightly curved tubes cream and silky with hairs.
The lower surfaces of the sepals are pale and hairy, their curling possibly elaborated by dehydration (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
