Ledebouria mokobulanensis may be missed among the grass and stones of its montane habitat, although the mauve to lilac flowers are brightly coloured and flowering lasts nearly a month.

The small fruit capsules dehisce (split), releasing the dark brown seeds that are glossy and wrinkled (Hankey and Edwards (2008): Ledebouria mokobulanensis, a new species from the montane grasslands of Mpumalanga. SA Journal of Botany 74(2), pp 214-217; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
