The alternate leaves of Lotononis dahlgrenii are small and stalked.

The leaf structure is trifoliolate, the leaflet shape linear to oblanceolate. The small leaflets are pale, covered in silvery to silky hairs. Leaflets fold in along their midribs or are channelled above. The leaflets lack stalks and there are no stipules present (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
