    At the end of flowering the Leucospermum oleifolium flowerhead, as represented by its thin, erect styles turns crimson red. Pollen presenters and stigmas are of different colours at the style tips.

    The masses of discarded perianth segments form a base of haphazardly collapsed straps low down among the styles.

    The dull green leaves surrounding the head at the stem-tip are faintly hairy. Up to five orange glandular teeth may be present at a leaf-tip (Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist).
