The spirally arranged, hairless and leathery leaves of Leucospermum cuneiforme are wedge-shaped, each ending in three to ten glandular teeth. The leaves in the photo curve up, the younger pale green ones on their pale green stems even closer to the stems. Leaf length is from 4,5 cm to 11 cm.

The leaves may appear subopposite when spaced by short internodes of young shoots, on drought‑stressed plants, or on plants recovering after fire. Opposite leaves are extremely rare in Proteaceae, unknown in Leucospermum

Some Pincushions can for a time coexist with the still more spaced alien invaders, here Australian ones in the Eastern Cape near the coast (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Rebelo, 1995; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
