When vigorous growth allows the cluster of flowerheads at a Leucospermum truncatulum stem tip to comprise six or more, a quite busy spectacle may ensue as in this picture. Flowerheads at different developmental stages are present, as well as spirited emergence of many new stems that give the stem tip tasks similar to those performed at a railway junction.

During last season matters were calmer, when the old flowerheads now remaining only as dry relics at the top among the current ones, were blooming without added stem growth.
