Green involucral leaves are erect in their upper parts around these older Leucadendron strobilinum stem-tip fruit or female cones on Table Mountain during March.
Usually hair-fringed and cream- or ivory-coloured around young cones, the hairs and special colouring are already gone here. The pollination phase is long over in the hard, lemon-green cones that already grip their developing or developed seeds firmly and protectively. They will keep doing this for very long (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
