The trifoliolate leaves of Indigofera amoena bear their leaflets on petiolules (stalks) of different length: The lateral leaflets have very short petiolules, the middle one based upon a markedly longer one. A small, pointed and hairy bract is present at the leaf petiole base.
The leaflet margins in picture appear dark red and granular, as do the leaflet stalks. Fine hairs cover the dull green blades. There is a pronounced fold along the leaflet midrib, recessed on the upper surface (Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
