Jamesbrittenia grandiflora

Jamesbrittenia grandiflora flowers may appear in several shades of mauve. The flower has five broad flat-tipped corolla lobes around a narrow yellowish green mouth at the end of a long slender corolla tube. The four stamens occur in two dissimilar pairs, contained within the tube. The plant attracts butterflies.

Most of the about 100 species in the Jamesbrittenia genus grow in South Africa. Many of them are hardy plants in the form of shrublets, woody perennials or annual herbs (Manning, 2009; www.plantzafrica.com).
