Lobelia linearis dark flower

This Lobelia seen in the Gifberg during October was thought to be Lobelia lasiantha that bears deep violet flowers. But that species has now been sunken into L. linearis.

The rod-like stems are sparsely hairy when young, producing narrow leaves, sometimes divided into thread-like segments and not remaining on the plant for very long. The blue to dark blue or purplish flowers do not seem always to have white in their corollas (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
