Boomslang encounters with trees

This glorious view over the treetops and the Cape Flats to the mountains around Stellenbosch is a recent addition to the offerings enjoyed in the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.

Walking along the new Tree Canopy Walkway that commemorates the Garden’s centenary, there is the sensation of seeing the old tree friends in a new light, from an elevated angle. Close-up views (and photos) of their uppermost flowers, fruits and leaves reveal more. Details are better perceived and recognised, building familiarity and knowledge necessary for appreciation and conservation.
