This Tetradenia riparia shrub growing well in Kirstenbosch, far from its subtropical habitat, is very busy flowering in April. Bloom-time is usually expected to commence slightly later, but when conditions permit, doing something different away from home is not that unusual.

The generic common name of misty plume is apt for these numerous stem tip and upper leaf axil inflorescences. Whitish here, the flower colour may also be mauve or pink (Manning, 2009; Coates Palgrave, 2002).
