Ecbolium glabratum and pollinator

The white to faintly blue Ecbolium glabratum flower arches outwards due to the curve in its long corolla tube.

The angle becomes accentuated when the flower is hosting a large insect in search of nectar or pollen, or even a bite from the corolla, scrumptious to some… the sacrifices a flower has to make in order to obtain pollination services!

The narrow upper lips of the corollas appear to be partly bilobed in the photo.

Including only the upper plant parts here, most leaves in the photo are still nearly erect, their generally pointed tips clear to see (Pooley, 1998; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iSpot).
