The leaves of Ehretia rigida subsp. nervifolia are here crowded at the end of small, rigid spur-branchlets. Leaf stalks are absent to very short.

The leaf shape is obovate with entire margins, broadly tapering to rounded at the tip and tapering to the base. The three veins from the base are not very clear in this photo, the domatia in the vein axils visible in a few places down the centre of the leaf blade. The leaf colour is dark to medium green, slightly glossy and leathery with negligible signs of hairiness (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997; iSpot).
