You marula, you!

Game drives are sometimes interrupted for drinks at what is believed to be the highest point on the flat terrain of the Mjejane Game Reserve. That is, should no danger be detected lurking in the vicinity!

This tiny marula grows there. Anybody looking for it will find it bigger than in the photo, if no calamity has befallen it in the interim.

This may be your sole opportunity to lean dominantly over a marula tree and call it names. Like: You, marula, you!

Or, should you dare utter such language in the company of those present: Sclerocarya birrea, subspecies caffra! It will not take umbrage. In fact, it will not respond at all. Although that is its full and proper scientific name.

Remember to serve some Amarula liqueur in the evening to those who witnessed the event. And do it soon before the tree is taller than you!
