Senegalia senegal var. leiorhachis, in Afrikaans the driehaakdoring (three-hook thorn) or slaploot (limp shoot), is one of the thorn trees to be seen in the Mjejane Game Reserve.

It bears prickle-like thorns in groups of three just below the nodes where the leaf clusters grow. Like all senegalias, the flowers are catkin-shaped, in this case 3 cm to 8 cm long, yellowish white in colour.

There is more on this tree in the Album on the Senegalia genus (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997; Schmidt, et al, 2002; iNaturalist).
