The flowers of Trachyandra bulbinifolia grow in a large, loose inflorescence. Several racemes branch into a loose panicle.
The brown buds start off green-tipped in the photo, showing white borders on their narrow tepals when the flower is open.
The buds near the tip of the raceme, closest in picture, lack the basal bulge of the expanding ovary of the old flowers, already withered and brown positioned below the one (almost) open flower in the raceme (Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
