This Adenium swazicum shrublet was seen flowering in January in the Kruger National Park. Pale corolla lobes on the open flowers have dark pink outer (lower) surfaces, coloured as the furled buds that are about to open. The flower calyx is short at the flower base, the corolla tube long. The flowers grow in clusters at the stem tips.
Note the length of the leaves with their upturned, hairy margins and glossy upper surfaces (Smith and Crouch, 2009; Onderstall, 1984).
