The blue-grey leaves of Albuca concordiana emerge from the ground in a corkscrew-shape, coiling in rather dramatic fashion. The leaf shape is strap-like and flat, unlike those of A. cylindrica and A. spiralis that are cylindrical. The leaf surfaces are finely, longitudinally channelled, and not sticky.

The leaves appear before the flowers that arrive late winter to early spring, and are often withered at bloomtime (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist; www.pacificbulbsociety.org; www.huntington.org).
