Anacampseros telephiastrum flower

The pretty pink flowers of Anacampseros telephiastrum appear on long fleshy stalks. The flower stems may be somewhat drooping and branching above the compact rosettes of succulent leaves. The specific name probably comes from the Greek telephos meaning shining far and astrum (Latin) meaning star, gilding the star-shaped flower.

A cultivar of this plant called sunrise is notable in the nursery market. As can be expected from its natural habitat A. telephiastrum is drought resistant, although not all agree about its love for full sun (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
