Arctotis rotundifolia

Arctotis rotundifolia is a lesser known member of its genus. Tufted or growing short, leafy stems, the plants are low-growing herbs.

The leaves are fleshy in stalk and blade, the blades rounded to oval and hairy. The surfaces or margins may be purplish red.

The yellow daisy is small with a blackish central disc. The ray tips are pointed or rounded.

The species is found in the Western Cape. It grows in sandy soil on flats in full sun. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
