The ray florets of this Arctotis acaulis flowerhead are colourful on the outside, nearly white on the inside. Both surfaces are visible in their contortioned folding in and recurving.

Four rows of involucral bracts are visible. The inner bracts, the top two rows, are broad, brown and papery thin with rounded tips; black-fringed in the second row that has pale, smooth, yellow-green surfaces. The other two rows, the outer ones, comprise long, thin bract bodies, fleshy and hairy, purple in colour (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
