The stems of Aloiampelos juddii branch much. They grow erect or semi-erect, i.e. creeping outwards from the base with the terminal parts being erect.
The leaves are dark green, smooth and triangular, clasping the stems at the base. Narrow spacing between consecutive leaves on the stem, paler coloured than the leaves, is apparent where the sheaths fit around the stems. The leaves appear broader at the base than those of A. commixta, a species resembling A. juddii. Tiny white teeth are evenly spaced along the leaf margins. The leaf margins curve upwards while a slight downwards, length-wise curve towards the leaf tip is also seen.
The flowers grow in unbranched short racemes on sturdy, pale purplish stalks with some small, papery, bracts on their surfaces. The perianths are red, quite long with regular cylindrical shape. Faint yellow and green markings can be seen on the open perianth mouth. The open perianths become pendulous (Wikipedia).
