The leaves of Aloiampelos commixta are narrowly lanceolate. They have barely discernible lines along their lengths, but less so than the leaves of A. striatula, a closely related species. Leaves are fleshy and pale to bright green with a waxy surface texture. The base of the leaf is a stem clasping sheath, similar to some other species, notably A. ciliaris.

The leaves have tiny, soft to firm, whitish teeth on the margins but none on the leaf surfaces. Sometimes there may be an inconspicuous off-centre keel ridge at the back of the upper end of the leaf with occasionally a few even tinier teeth. Leaves point upwards, are erectly spreading or slightly incurving, not recurving as those of A. striatula (Jeppe, 1969; Hankey and Winter, undated).
