The flowers of Aspalathus cordata, in Afrikaans known as the stekelteebossie (little prickle tea bush), are bright yellow, fading to red. They grow in clusters at stem tips. The flower has a hairy keel and a white-haired calyx. Flowering occurs in spring and early summer. This plant was found flowering in the Kogelberg during November (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
