Aloidendron dichotomum stem-tip damage may result in these multiple rosette beginnings replacing the usual dichotomous branching. The lesion leaves a permanent mark on the tree; the outcome may have appeal of its own.

Similar effects may be seen on A. barberae and some other Aloidendron and Aloe species.
