Aloe lineata var. muirii bracts and stalks

After flowering, the remaining Aloe lineata var. muirii floral bracts are dry, having grown long and papery. They are still marked in longitudinal lines and ridges that were veins in their heyday.

The overlap among the bracts is now much reduced by stem extension from what it was in the compact bud stage.

Long, dry pedicels that have lost flower or fruit from their tips are still protruding from under the bracts, exceeding them in length by much (Reynolds, 1974).
